Power Boost Valve...

Anyone tried these out? What level of work is needed to fit one and are they any good? Looking to pair it up with a K&N upgrade at the same time, I figure if im going to get oily I might as well do 2 jobs at once!

Complete and utter waste of money, it alters the fuel pressure but It plumbs in before the pressure reg which just returns the pressure back to normal!!
I've had one on a 1.1 fiesta and my modified s14 makes no difference rip off!

buy a dremel and get porting the inlet knive edge it if you already have one then it's free performance

you,re supposed to fit it in place of the stock one aint you ? (ie, remove the stock pressure reg first)

Not in my instructions I got hence my confusion!!
That was my thoughts exactly, but to be fair I didn't really want it to mess up my fuel pressure whilest running 19psi on stock injectors and map!! Just incase it ran it lean and popped a piston

Saying that mine was eBay spesh not fse, but anyway why do you need more fuel pressure?? On your stock ecu it will just run rich (if you replace pressure reg) and running rich will just knacker the engine in the long run and waste fuel

Thanks for the replies! As I have said in a few of my posts... Im a noob! I am an IT engineer, but show me a spanner and I s**t myself!! I have arranged a set of 15" alloys, and am going for an air filter and a strut brace first off... After that I am going for a full suspension and shocks upgrade... After that... Who knows!

I want more grunt from the little hippo ;-) So the manifold and exhaust are likely to be next on the list... Any other ideas?

Handling upgrades are one of the most enjoyable things to mod on the K11. A decent set of springs, dampers and some uprated anti-roll bars, (particularly the rear one), plus some proper droplinks, as the standard ones don't last long with a fat rear bar and they become real cornering machines.......very satisfying to drive ;)

If you can spare the budget after a manifold a set of cams and a Nistune remap from Ed makes a real difference, but this depends on how much you're looking at spending. It will run as is, but the advantages are notable.....believe me, I was one of the first people here to run a re-mapped ecu and have never gone back.......now on an Omex but it's a bit of a specialist motor now, so budget has gone right out the window :)

Thanks Low Rider... The suspension and handling stuff is already on my mind... I had a chat with Matt Humphris this week and I will be doing a full handlng conversion in January...

Cams sound fun too... Im gonna look into that!

it worked well on my tuned vtec, it eliminated flat spots but thats after ages off messing about on dyno setting it to the best pressure with a proffesional vtec expert, but it will probably do nothing on a a micra especially a standard one. hope this has helped you decide and oh by the way avoid the ones on ebay if you still decide to get one
