just found these pictures and had to share them, there of the new bugatti veyron, check out the engine v16 (yes SIXTEEN) quad turbo, looks good enough on its own, but when you consider its over 1000bhp out of the box, can there be a better engine,

wonder if it could fit in a micra

if i didnt go jap i wud own a german car

ha ha!! Already own an italian stallion (78bhp of fiat fire!!) and two audi avants (1x1996 A6 avant 2.8 12v, and 1x2001 A6 avant 3.0v6 24v quattro!!).

They are very well built and engines seem to go on forever (not the tony though), over engineered springs to mind, but they are fraught with electrical problems, basically buy one, and rip everything electrical out of it and stamp on it:devil:

It's a hell of an engine, in many ways. Technically it is what VW call a W16, which is two of their narrow angle VR8s joined together.
It's got 64 valves, all of which are packed very close together, which could lead to reliability problems.
The big bits on top of the heads that say "Bugatti" are actually charge coolers, just the pipes aren't connected from the turbos.
It's got a neat system where the current through the spark at ignition can detect misfire or knock, because having 16 cylinders makes using a normal knock sensor awkward.

i have never heard of a w16, but i thought the w layout as in the w12 was sorta like a flat eight engine with a straight 4 stuck ontop of it

A W12 layout is two V6 arrangements blocks mounted together to form a W. The V16 will follow the same design instead using two V8 modular blocks, as Andrew said :)

im getting that engine put in my car and turning it to rear wheel drive....lol :grinning:

na what you want to do is put two susuki hyabusa turbo engines one in the front one in the back :unclesam:

has anyone seen the micra that was in fast car a few months back with 2 fireblade engines, it was doing wheelies,
also all that talk of f1 engines reminded me of the espace with a fibreglass shell and a f1 engine, its was fast, could out run ferraris
