I wouldn't, too many unknowns.
Recipe for disaster in my opinion, it's one thing to make and fit spacing parts, securing original components with like, but longer, high tensile bolts, but to make totally new critical components without a great deal of knowledge about metallurgy/material properties and the stresses that the components will be subjected to is bordering on insanity!
