Plastic welding?

I had a shot at college. Its kind of like a big soldering iron that heats up then you feed the plastic down and it melts to join the too bits together that you have clamped.

Thats it. You do have to get the temperature and the feed right though. The one at college was done manually so will take abit of practice.

It's a black art, just like respoking a motorbike wheel, you never get it right straight away, practice lots before trying it for real.
