coincidentally, i was just having this conversation with my driving instructor...
speed cameras cover a few metres of road, nothing more nothing less. and they only catch speed NOT reckless driving (speed isnt allways the cause of it)
if the government would employ more police officers and purchase more police cars, people would stick the speed limits more often, instead of going 40mph, slowing to 30 for the speed camera, then speeding up again.
Another daft thing about speed cameras are they're advertised like christmas goods in argos! if they're in plain sight people are more likely to slow down, but a hidden camera would record peoples normal driving habits on roadways.
Having said all that, i wouldnt doubt some people on here speed, but as i said, its not allways speed that kills. Plus, i wanna join the force so if they employ more officers i gota better chance of getting in
