Parcel shelf for adjustable rear seat

Hi folks, how does the parcel shelf fit on a car with adjustable rear seats? Ie how does the material bit fit to the seats?

The loose end of the material bit has a steel rod running through it with a plastic clip near each end...

These clips clip onto a second steel rod inside the back of the seat, accessible through two slots in the seat back...
