p011 timing advanced

Hi i recently fitted new timing chain car starts runs engine sounds fine but when stopping at junctions etc idle falls and eml on diag says p011 fault code timing advanced how can i cure this anyone have idea's

remove a cam sprocket i guess mate, did you lock the inlet pulley/sprocket with compressed air ?

hmmm no

the inlet cam is probably 1 tooth out then john, on the CG (k11) engines you just remove 1 of the cam sprokets and that gives enough chain slack to reset the chain

thanks Frank i'll give it a go at weekend wife is using it for work at the moment i just told her she has the benefit of start / stop system without having the facility lol

the GA16 pdf manual describes under what conditions the cam is advanced or retarded john (the oil pressure fed solenoid)
