Nissan's new glass-roofed Micra C+C convertible is now available to order from £13,150.
It's based on the Micra supermini and first deliveries are expected on November 14.
The glass roof, which Nissan calls C-View, gives the car a unique edge over rivals, such as the Peugeot 206 CC and Vauxhall Tigra, which cost more – from £13,495 and £13,995 respectively.
C-View folds away automatically at the push of a button in 22 seconds. Roof up, there's 457 litres of luggage space in the boot, while 255 litres is left when the top's down. This is significantly more than the 206 CC and a little more than the Tigra.
The entry-level Urbis model uses a 1.4-litre 87bhp petrol engine and comes with alloy wheels, electric windows, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors and a CD player. Air-conditioning is a £500 option.
Pay another £845 and you can have a 1.6 Sport, which has a 109bhp petrol engine. Besides its added power, the £13,995 Sport also boasts manual air-conditioning and larger alloy wheels. Upgrading to climate control costs £250.
Another £1000 increase in price buys a top-of-the-range Essenza, which gets climate control, heated leather seats, six-CD changer, traction control and keyless entry and ignition.
