Nissan Micra won't start

Hi

I have a Nissan Micra Hatchback 1.0 E which seems to have gone dead, or been immobilised. It is a 2003-5 model.

When you turn the key - nothing happens.

The front car door won't lock and if you go in and shut the front door, you get locked in. You can get out when someone opens the door from the outside.

There is a red symbol of a car constantly flashing with a black key in the centre.

I have tried jump starting with leads - nothing.

The headlights are working.

Can anyway help please!

Sounds like the immobiliser based on your description of the light to be honest
