New stereos have crade?

Hi,

Do todays stereos have cradles to fit into the car, or is it just the unit that fits into the car.?

Aslo how do you fit a new cd player into a T reg Micra. The one that I just pulled out has a bracket on each side with 4 screw holes that screws onto the dash unit.

take them off mate,ther just for the standard unit

you will get a cage with your new unit to fit in the hole

How do I fit the cage, or in other words, how do I secure it so it doesent move around?

it should have triangles cut into it around the edge,,push it in the hole as far as it goes,and bend the triangles round the backof the dash ,on all four sides,this stops it from moving and falling out

p.s may not be triangles,but everyone ive had,has has triangles on it

Wouldnt pushing it all the way in create a big gap at the front?

thers a lip on the cage so it doesnt fall through the hole,,this needs to be up against the plastic(as far as it goes)

Which plasic, the front plasic(the main facia, the black bit) or the plasic behind the main facia.

the dash plastic,,,forget about the stereo,and just fit the cage into the dash

then the stereo slots in no problem

Ah OK, but my caddy wont go through the dash.
