New key cut immobiliser help.

My mum has a T-reg Micra, the car only came with one key and it looks like it's gonna snap in half any second, so she got a new one cut.
The new key is fine, except that it won't start the engine.

Just wondered how to get the new key to work?




p.s.Tried searching but 'key' is to short a word.

your gonna have to go to a nissan dealer i think because of the nats system or maybe buy one of those central locking kits on ebay with the flipout key because you can put your chip into the new key and get it cut

Surely you just need the little red/blue chip out of the old key to make it work, as thats part of the immobiliser isnt it? cant you get a key cut that has a slot to take the chip so you can just swap them?
