New K12 owner with a question!

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd say hello as I've just bought a one-owner K12 Micra from a friend of a friend. I needed a cheap runabout while I repair my trusty Rover's clutch this winter.

Here's the new arrival:

Not too bad for £100! It's a 1.2 with 117 miles on the odometer.

I was poking around the engine bay this afternoon as I was treating it to an oil and filter change and came across this perished and disconnected hose:

The end that's still connected goes down to the gearbox so I'm guessing it's a breather tube, but it would he good to know where the other end belongs

I've got a few little jobs to complete to make it a nice place to be, but I'm hopeful that it will be a good little workhorse while I need it.

Cheers for now!

it's a breather you are spot on. I think it goes to a cap and then bolts to the bulk head or similar. a quick check of the manual, I can only find one mention of it and it's a crap image. cable tie it out the way somewhere. :)

Hey - thanks for the response, yeah, I've already cable tied it out the way so that'll do for now. I'm off to the scrap yard next week so I'll see if I can have a look at a scrap car for confirmation as to where it belongs.

I've also had time to give the car a bit of a service this week: new oil, oil filter, air filter and wipers. I'll also replace the brake fluid and coolant in due course,

My other small win was solving the issue with the CD player which was causing a parasitic battery drain. I'll open another thread about that in case it helps someone else in the future.
