New clutch issues. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Long story short about 2 months ago we had a new clutch fitted to the old K11. Everything was fine until a couple of days ago. While the wife was driving the clutch pedal suddenly had no resistance on it. And the pedal no longer returned as it should. Managed to get it home with limited travel and it was obviously very difficult to get into gear (bite was on the floor). On closer inspection it's almost as if the cable has stretched an inch!? I adjusted as much free play out of the cable as I could and obviously it seems to go into gear alot easier. I've been used to motorbikes and generally if that happens the cable snaps not stretches that much. Could something have happened to the new clutch? The tension adjustment on the cable is at its maximum and it could still do with a bit more. Has anyone else had this issue before I co tact the garage that fitted the clutch.

Thank you and any input welcome.

I have personally had problems with one of my Micras with the cable aswell. You said you changed the clutch but was the old cable reused?
My 1L had the clutch change aswell and the old cable was used. They tend to bind, break and stretch with time giving a bad pedal feel. When mine ran out of adjustment threads i changed it with a new one (they are pretty cheap) and apart from biting point it also had a better feel through all the movement.
I guess in your case if it is old/reused i would say it needs changing.
* I tend to lube mine from time to time as the get a bit sticky (This was recomended to me by another friend that has had like 10 K11s*

Yes they reused the old cable when they changed the clutch. It was just very odd that all of a sudden we lost all pedal travel, and pedal wasn't returning. I adjusted it up fully and took about an inch of play out! The thing that's bugging me is what happened. The clutch is also very light but seems to function OK? What was the pedal feel like after yours was done?
