This will help prevent any chance of the airbag module going off while you're removing it. The airbag is physically fitted to the front facia of the steering wheel, and naturally this has to be removed before you can get anywhere. There should be some flaps you can open up on the steering wheel which should expose the screws to remove the front centre cap/airbag module. Goodluck and be careful!
