Just a random post to gauge interest in this.
I wrote a web app that lets me see tv listings, click on bbc programs I think I will want to watch, then I get an email when they are added to iplayer. I have started working on a recommendation engine, you know if you like the culture show, you will probably also want to watch jools holland. Stuff like that. Thats pre alpha by about a month. Anyways, I wrote this application/utility to take the hassle out of finding out when programs like top gear, Qi, mock the week etc are on, new series etc... I just get an email, and watch the programs when I want.
I am thinking of opening it up to let other people use it.
Do you think that would be worth the hassle... is it something that people other than me would want to use? NOT a money making venture, more a social utility. To open it up I would have to spend some time making the user interface more obvious/friendly, a user management system etc. Its not a massive job, but pointless if there would be no interest.
