My White Micra K11 (1st Car)

Hello guys.

I recently got a 1998 White 1.0l Micra k11 which I'll be learning to drive in and hoping to keep after I pass my driving test. I got the inspiration to get a Micra from my brother, Sulur (who was a well known member on here ). Now that he doesn't own a micra any more, I need to takeover!

It does have some bad rust on the sills which will definitely need fixing before MOT next year but other than it is a great runner. It is a Micra Equation so a pretty low spec model. I will need to make some modifications to spice it up!

Some of the things I eventually hope to do/add to the car:

• Colour code (in white) the bumper trims, door handles, door trims, mirrors, and the boot handle.
• Black out the inside of headlights (Also might eventually get the 2nd facelift headlights - think they look cooler)
• Might get the non facelift rear lights but not too sure about that (tell me what you think)
• Clear side repeaters
• Install a central locking system (5dr without central locking is a pain in the ARSE!)
• Tint back windows
• Spoiler - Preferably the wrap around kind but depends on price
• Maybe front and back splitters (I think Sulur has some spares )
• And possibly new wheels and then lowering but depends on my budget and stuff.

Ill probably add some other little bits here and there but they are the main mods as of now.
Let me know if you have any suggestions!

My k12 is Arctic white 326 too and I had to respray my rear bumper, which is now much whiter than the rest of her *facepalm*
Have a go at the rest of the boot lid with some t-cut, might help even it out a bit ^_^

I was thinking about what rearlights look better on the car. My brother has a spare set of replica led rear lights that need repairing but still work.
So I made a photoshop of the lights on the car to see how they look. I'm not too sure, some say they look too third party-ish and a bit "blingy" for the car.
What do you think, LED lights or regular lights? thanks

Yep that what I plan to do eventually. I need to find out how much it will cost to get the sills repaired first, there are some pretty bad rust holes . Once that's fixed, I'll hopefully get to buy more spraypaint and colour code everything. Also on a look out for a spoiler

Your car looks to be in great shape, at least from the outside. I personally wouldn't repaint the black plastic trims but I guess that's up to the individual.

I would get the grilles wrapped in matte black though. It just sticks out in chrome (b/c no other part of the car is chrome.)

Have fun! The K11 is a great car. It was my first car back in 2007, and I sold it in 2008 for a newer Nissan Versa because back then I had zero experience with mechanical repairs and the K11 was constantly in the shop. I regretted though -- not that the Versa was a bad car, but the Micra is really an iconic car and I hate to say this but it turns more heads than my current BMW. Fast forward 6 years, I bought myself another K11 as a second car.

Managed to pick up a spoiler sooner than I thought (Thanks Paul Smith!), sprayed and fitted it yesterday with A LOT of Sulur's help lol. I took a bunch of pics just in case anyone was curious.

Sanding down to rougher surface. Also attempted to fix a small crack in the middle with super glue and then sanding it flat.

Then sprayed with filler primer. Sanded down smoother with some 1500 grit sand paper.

Starting to add layers of Arctic white 326 paint. Then a stupid little fly thought it was a good idea to go and sit in the wet paint until it got stuck! We had no choice but to spray over it and sand it off later

Used a heat gun in between layers to speed up the drying and looks like it gives it a smooth finish. It was also a good weapon for scaring off flies . Probably not the best idea to spray outside but I had no choice

Finally gave it a couple layers of clear lacquer so it was shiny it was ready for fitting!

I forgot to take pictures of the drilling process but we drilled the top two holes and left the sides to be tigersealed later on. Heres how it looks

I am planning on spraying the back mud guards white with micra written in black. Has anyone ever done this?

Got some bits for my micra few days ago!
Fully colour coded (white trims) front and back bumper. The front bumper has FOG lights too - yay! I also managed to grab the stalk with front fog switch on it. I have no idea how I am going to wire that up yet
And got a set of 14" Micra alloys.

It looks so much better! I put a splitter on as well but you can't even tell on this picture haha.
The fogs are just wired up to the beams at the moment but I want to wire the stalk with fog switch soon. If anyone has a guide or any help, that would be great

The car that the bumpers and wheels came off was sitting for a while so everything has gathered a fair bit of dirt on. I will be giving it a good clean and buffer soon so hopefully get some good pics

I'll have my old bumpers and probably the 13" alloys for sale if anyone was interested (first post in thread show pics of these on the car).

Looking great! The fogs should just be plug and play the connector block should be tucked up near the wing x

Turned my black mirrors white using white vinyl wrap! I don't think I will do that again... was bloody difficult (just use paint).
They turned out quite nice in the end I think though

They look a bit "whiter" than the body of the car but then again my car STILL needs a good clean haha

Cheers Yeah wrapping can be quite hard. Especially for something as curved as the mirrors. Hopefully they stay stuck, if it starts to peel, I'm sticking to spray paint!

Not yet, but have some things to do soon! I'm waiting on delivery for some 2nd facelift headlights.
And I found a new rust hole at the back of the wheel arch Gonna try and just fix it with some mesh and glass fiber filler as temporary fix. Probably permanent if I can away with it . I'll attach a picture.

Thanks . I need a front driver side wing in white (326), which for some reason is bloody hard to find in good condition and price haha (some guy tried to charge me 50 quid for one!) but what parts you got?

Yeah I've been considering that but it would be so convenient to just do a straight swap with the right color . I've had no luck finding one for a while though . Ill give it a little longer then probably get a new one to spray

Ok some updates!

Got 2nd facelift headlights. Sprayed the insides black
Heated lights up to open then up

Removed orange indicator insert. Masked the indicator and sidelight areas. And sprayed black

Put them all back together and...

I obviously had to put my old orange indicator bulbs in since I took out the orange insert in the new ones. Overall very happy with the look
