The fuel originally went down to nearly empty no problem.
I filled her to the brim and ever since then it has stays on full for quite a long time after refuelling.
After what I speculate to be about 30% of the tank has been used the gauge starts to drop at what seems to be quite an accurate speed.
When it goes half a bar past halfway the car will run out of fuel.
FYI
-When I got this micra it had been sitting on a driveway for 5 months with nearly a full tank of fuel.
-the reading is always consistent each time I fill up.
-I have tested another petrol gauge dash cluster (whatever it’s called) and it gives the exact same reading.
-it has no low fuel warning light
I’m guessing this means it’s the fuel float?
What would you all do?
-The job looks a bit complicated and dangerous from the stuff I’ve looked up.
-it is kind of bothering me in an OCD kinda way though.
-would it be advisable to change the fuel pump also? (No symptoms but it’s done 93k and is 19 years old)
-how much would this probably cost to get done through someone cheap?
