MSD Ignition

I've used MSD ignition products and have found them to be very good (far better than Mallory).
However, I've used them on American V8 motors which is what they're designed, not sure about using them on a modern high revving (relative to a lazy V8) jap motor. Having said that, with twice the cylinders- a V8 doing 6K revs is sparking the same as a 4-pot doing 12K revs so you should be okay.
I'm pretty sure that coil will also require this ballast resistor...

cheers just wanted to make sure i wasn't going to be wasting my money

there are ones on ebay with ballast resistors, the one i posted up was the first one that came up.

Okay, he doesn't stock them but he reckons the best place to get them is Real Steel in Uxbridge. http://www.realsteel.co.uk
Blaster 2 coil : £43.62
Ballast resistor 1 : £6.14
Depending on the application you may also need a secondary ballast resistor which is an additional £9.95

The guys at Real Steel are really helpful so give them a call and they will advise what's best.

All the ignition stuff is in this online catalogue. http://www.realsteel.co.uk/section9.pdf

what makes you say that? out of curiosity

Because I have the same coil pack on my st with 40hp over standard and its fine. Its pure over kill, only reason you would need it if your spark was being blown out by high boost pressure(Y)

Not sure how much they go for I'll have to pop to my local motorfactors and at the moment nothings wrong with it but I don't know how old it is so I thought I'd get a spare just in case
