MOT legal exhaust mods

Thinking I might have missed an opportunity here- my 94 Micra is currently in having a new exhaust put on, the old one having rusted clean through. Just wondering what MOT legal things I could have had done to improve my exhaust system?

Cheers for that link. I was thinking a back box would probably be the best I could get away with. Those full systems on that link were classified as "Race", does that mean they'll fail the MOT?

Also, what about janspeed manifolds, will they cause the car to fail the MOT?

if u have both cats still in place then it should pass MOT. Some people have had trouble with the manifolds failing on emmisions iirc
