ok.. so ive tried to fix this problem myself.. and im not having too much luck.
symptoms: car seems to idle fine untill it gets into temp range, then when you hold it above 2k basically it coughs and splutters. its not a regular missfire, more like all cylinders arent firing and not at regular intervals..
ive replaced:
spark plugs, dizzy cap and rotor, leads (so basically all electrical side of things is new)
cleaned injectors and replaced fuel filter
im guessing that it must be a fuel starve problem, im going to check today if i can find a leak at all in the fuel lines. otherwise all i can imagine that it would be is the fuel pump.
has anyopne had this problem before? i cant seem to find any info about it.
also is this similar to the map sensor problem?? that you have to solder?

One of the staff here had a proton that devoloped a rough idle/missfire and it turned out to be the crank angle sensor that was to blame. Good luck trying to find any fuel leaks as there a pain to find unless its a large leak. Also have you ruled out contaminated fuel?
