I was locked out of the car earlier this year - faulty boot switch. When I tried to unlock the door on the passenger side the key turned, no sound of anything activating, but the door still didn't unlock.
Called at my local Nissan dealer and they supplied me with a copy of the original key (cost £40 ). This key fits in but will not turn the lock at all.
Therefore 2 questions:
1) Realise that the lock may have been changed at some time, but why would the key turn fully without unlocking the door.
2) If the lock is the original, why is the purchased key not turning at all
I need to know what to look for before I start stripping the door apart in a few weeks time.
