Micra 2006 radio code

Hi, I've had to change the car battery of my 2006 Micra and now the radio won't work. I can't find a radio code anywhere. The serial number of the radio is BP538769678235. I'd be very grateful if anyone knows the code for this stereo. Thanks.

Hi John, I took out the radio and all I saw in the back was the following numbers. Do they make sense to you? I took had to change battery and have lost the code to the radio. I have a 2006 micra 1.2 sport

HP-3254

There is also a number engraved into the radio but it is hard to read.

I assume it's a 6CD changer like the one in my 2006 Sport + ?
There should be an engraved number on the side of the radio, starting with 'BP' followed by twelve numbers (sometimes a letter in the fifth position) this is the number I need to generate the unlock code...

Hi, its not a 6 disc just a regular cd player. The only 12 digit number engraved in the back of the radio is 8 635 123 542 0 1 whichis the hard to see one in the pics i attached. I've attached a pic of the radio as well. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

Just realised, from your pictures that you appear to have not taken the radio out of the plastic dash housing, just slid the lot out to look at the back? The radio is a BlauPunkt unit and the BP number will be engraved on the side of the metal chassis. You will need to disconnect the radio and slide it forward, out of the plastic dash pod to get access to it.....
I think that you need to remove the 4 small plastic bungs in the front and use a pair of release tools like THESE ....
