Mettalic rattling

I have a metallic rattle noise just toward the front of the gear stick that rattles around 2000 rpm, ive removed the heatsheilds and checked return spring which is fine. Im thinking it could be sound transmitted through the shifter linkage, any ideas??

The heat shield thing wrapped around the exhaust? Mine done that, I fixed it with some gigantic f**king jubilee clips, never heard it again till the return spring broke and got stuck between the main heat shield..

Yeah i removed the heatsheild completely and my springs fine but it still rattles, i have no idea where its coming from

I mean the heat shield on the front that wraps around the exhaust, does yours have that?

Coming from the manifold like? Yeah thats still there actually

Try that, It got me for a little while, till I put the big ass jubilee clip on it
