Been a while, thought I'd let you all see what I'm currently driving.
I sold T205 ATF to Lyra, and needed a new daily.
Her housemate was selling this, only 2 mins away from my house at a bargain price.#
The car is a 1999 Ford Focus 2.0 Ghia in black. It's a very high spec model with four power windows, power mirrors, and A/C. Being a 2.0 it has some go about it, and is a wonderful handling car. The fuel economy, on the other hand, is not so great. (averaging 29.7 mpg on my last check)
Now, the car was cheap for a reason. (or 5)
The rear passenger side window didn't close, so it was VERY cold the first few days.
The passenger side wing mirror was smashed.
The A/C doesn't work
The radio didn't have a code
The paintwork is .. well.. it's been detailed with a house brick
Smashed front number plate
But, it's a form of transport and it gets me to work and back nicely.
Here it was the night I picked it up
The paint:
On to fixing.
I bought it on a Sunday, on Thursday Lyra and I went to the local scrappy and found some Focus's to pull apart.
Enough faffing with the window motor. New door it is ..
New plate on ..
Front tires are a little cracked, two new Yoko's and tracking!
Service time! I got the air filter and oil filter for less than £8, it had to be done.
Quick wash ..
Trip to another scrapyard, and scored a new steering wheel and some ST170 headlights! Win!
Neither of which are installed yet. The headlights need some modification to the wiring.
Music time!
So, I've this old subwoofer and amp up in the loft for ages that I took out of my Starlet. I think it's time to make use?
I ripped out the old Ford unit and put in my alpine headunit, and a mate came and helped install the sub.
All was going well, until the alpine headunit finally gave up the ghost. I've had it nearly four years, and it was second hand then!
Not wanting to miss out the "banging toonz" I went to halfords, and managed to find a replacement.
This Sony unit was half price as it was an ex demo model!
I also managed to get a single-din (This was a 1.7 din, WTF is that??) facia plate.
Unfortunately the car is still suffering some problems, the exhaust has started blowing quite badly, and is affecting running of the car.
Yeah, that'll do it..
And now my "banging toonz" have blown holes in the speakers.
Prrroooobbbabbly should have upgraded those.
And not played music too loud.
Oops.
All in all, nice car.
Tl;Dr, Max bought a Ford and it's broken. ****.
Pictures only work when I click "edit". Nice....
