Thats my origional plan but too many people are telling me its not really a good thing to do and will be straign on the standard shocks and stuff.

You should be fine up to about 35mm..

I've had Gmax -35mm on mine with standard shocks for about a year now with no problems at all

Those horror stories are created by big car manufacturers to scare you into spending more money. -35mm is the same as having a heavy body... erm....load in the boot.

you can go up to about a 30-40mm drop on standard shocks absoloutly fine, anything more than that and you will need better dampeners. I've got -35mm springs on standard shocks for about 18 months, excellent drive, got through 2 mots fine, so know there is nothing wrong with doing it that way!

can you buy any lowering springs or do they have to be set one's that state there for a micra

Have to be fore a micra, springs have different diameters, height, and are designed for a epcific car!
