lowering springs

Alright, i turned 18 today and i want to buy myself a set of lowering springs! Just one question, will i need to upgrade my shocks? And if so, what price am i looking at because i dont have an awful lot! I can get the springs for 100 euro but i dont want to get shox if i dont need them...
So if anyone here has changed their springs but not theirs shocks, could you please tell me what its like... thanx!!

i changed to spax springs and never changed the shocks and they are fine

I'm riding on -35 springs and standard shocks. All seems fine, they've been on for probably getting on for a year now.
