Hello all,

I have been on the forum for quite a few years now i havent been active much here for the last wee while. I had taken a break from cars for awhile (life got in the way). I have moved house and now have very big garages to start working on cars again.

one of my garages

one of the cars I have is a 1.3 Micra which a few people would have seen at JAE a few years ago. I don't have many photos of the car but its very similar to my old one.

I had a high comp engine with bike carbs in the car for all of 30secs until it decided to go pop and that's when the car got put away. Now i have the time and the space i decided to start this project again but it will be a long term one I am not looking for it to be done anytime soon as this is just a project car not a daily driver.

people might remember the plate

Currently the car looks like this:

So the plans for the car is to strip and sandblast all the paint and rust and work towards a full restoration. The shells pretty solid but there is a few rust areas like most of the Micra's nowadays.

I have started stripping the engine bay and will look to buy a sandblaster at the end of the month.

Some of the goodies I have been buying for the car are:

Nistune Type 4 Board (hasnt arrived yet)

Matt Humphries last set of -80mm rear lowering springs

Starlet inlet which will be modified to fit with a SR20 throttle body and a micra flange:

will need to open up the inlet a bit to accommodate the large throttle body.

a 1.3 engine

My plan is to turbo the 1.3 engine since Gizfab seems to have totally changed the game for turboing these cars nowadays.

I also still have the ford wheels for the car so they will be back on one day.

I will update this when I have sandblasted and etch primed the front end.

Starlet manifold is quite easy to do I cut mine back to just after the little vac nipple cyl 1
Best to mock it up weld it first doh

so bought some more for the car.

I bought a Aluminium Expansion Tank.

I also bought a sandblasting cabinet for cleaning up parts

and a nutsert tool. Great for adding in nut inserts without having to weld a nut in.
