Ive searched but keep getting dead links etc

thanks

cant even seem to find the website - may be he has taken it down to upgrade it or something.. might just get another pair of DLS

Genesis won't now let you buy their products online, they are no longer allowing online sales. I'll see if I can find out the UK distributor for you.

Rep!!!!!!! Car Audio & Security did me a deal on the DLS R1070... for £160! That's the same as the R964... saving me a whopping £40! Oh it gets better... I heard them off an Audison amp and they blew me away... so much mid bass and yet so much clarity... wait until their hooked to my Blaupunkt VA4100 with the Morel Audio components up front... wooo mama. All reference... just need a new HU now... any ideas? Budget £150... prefer slot loading... not fussed about ipod connection... but WMA is a must..
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu

Most headunits are slot loading....!

Those DLS's are good though, and Audison amps are very nice. Still cant find the Genesis UK distributor, its all a bit up in the air at the moment.

Brand new headunit or willing to go second hand? Anyway, look at Alpine/Pioneer/JVC/Blaupunkt, they all offer quite a few at around that price :)

Hey P,

I brought this one:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/5780.html

and he threw in the iPod cable for £5

Total £150... glad that a cable is now available rather than an interface box etc. My old 9847r was wired to an AiNet iPod interface box.

Realised I was being a bit harsh over the slot loading requirement as this is just as easy to use.. looks good too. Sorry I should have made it clearer.. slot loading as in with the face plate on.. most of todays are flip downs.. I was a bit weary about the mechanism.. of flip down plates which are removable.. but the Alpine seemed quite agile and its just like putting on your average face plate/removing it is just a slide to the left...

Right now I need a recommendation for reference RCA cable...

I have two in mind:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/vibe-flat3-5mtr-p-2766.html?cadid=38c09481259c4036f53b2eb6a8c0a757

and

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/connect-r550-p-3391.html?cadid=38c09481259c4036f53b2eb6a8c0a757

I need reference cable to compliment a reference system. Budget for that is £40 max. would prefer sub 30 though.

Thanks again!

There isn't really any such thing as reference cable, it's only copper after all. You definitely don't need to spend £40/pair on them!

£20 should be more than enough, even £10 or less is fine. I actually ordered mine from CPC Direct. QX connect are good, but Vibe are overpriced.

Do you only need one?

I'd actually look at SPL Dynamics, so this one:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/dynamics-sc50-p-5668.html?cadid=38c09481259c4036f53b2eb6a8c0a757

or this one:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/connect-r250-p-3399.html?cadid=38c09481259c4036f53b2eb6a8c0a757

but if you want to spend silly amounts on cable, go for it. I personally wouldnt bother!

The Vibe do seem over-priced but they are flat so it was tempting. Most of my cables are flat and flexible to x2 standard etc. Yep I just need the one at the moment. I already have one from my previous install.

I think those QX you put there would do the trick. So I'm going to go for them.

CAS recommended this:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4530.html

I'm keeping the power, remote, fuse etc. but the RCA cable just doesn't cut it for me. I want a professional and clean install. So I was thinking if I should go for 8awg instead of 4awg power cable but there is plenty of space under the sills so it should fit snug.

p.s. I'm no physics/chemistry expert but how come a lot of the high end cables use silver and nickel plating? I always thought gold was the best conductor. Hmmm.

Cheers
