Its been a busy week and it looked like nothing was gonna get done on the GX. Until today!
We replaced the big holes in the sills with some nice solid metal! :laugh:
The worst side was the drivers side, needing a 2 foot long outer section and inner section right back to the trailing arm mount and a fist sized hole in the wheelarch. So after some furious cutting, grinding, welding, burning, swearing, loud rock music, a cup of tea and a cream donut (there is a bakery next door! MMM!) it looked like this...
Still need to clean and paint it but thats the hard bit done! Looks far better than a big crater! (See previous blog entries!) As always, the edge of the wheelarch is the trickiest bit to get into because you have to wedge yourself round the brake drum with a welding mask on to get into the outer edge! Not the comfiest position!
And the passenger side...
In addition to this we fixed the embarrasing stutter on the turquoise terror (the other GX with the bodykit) more of that here...
