Key Fob question

Hello,

I need another keyfob. I have had a look on e-bay but the only one I can see is a second hand one.

Got me thinking, can you reprogram an old one. I might go to a breakers and buy one and get it reprogrammed. I realise this is a nissan only job but they want 180 quid for a new one.

Not sure if they can be reprogrammed for another car
Not sure if Nissan would reprogram one

I know I would need a key blank too but thats not really that important at the moment.

Anyone successfully had a second hand key fob reprogrammed?

Called Nissan, they can recode a key I purchase elsewere for 50 quid but it doesn't always work. So I could end up loosing 50 quid plus the cost of the second key.

Does anyone work for Nissan that can confirm the cheapest way of getting a second key working?

Try to call other dealers to price check. As far as I recall that shouldn't take as much as 180... unless the hyperinflation came earlier.
