Hi,
My 53 reg micra k12 has the engine management light on. The car sometimes stalls when slowing down at a junction. The idle is eratic and sometimes drops to about 300rpm and then shoots back up to 1200rpm.
After plugging in my code reader I get P1122. Throttle Position Sensor.
The light has come on a couple of times and the mechanic who turned it off last time mentioned a £500 part!!!
I'm sceptical as I paid £800 to have the timing chain replaced a few years ago in an attempt to fix my lumpy idle - it didn't work.
Also throttle bodies are about £50 on ebay!
Will an entirely new throttle body fix this? Or could it be a simpler, smaller part?
As you may be able to tell, I know nothing about cars. Computers yes, engines no!
Thanks.
