Been having intermittant problems opening the tailgate. Now it won't open at all. I replaced the switch, still wouldn't work, replaced the lock and still wouldn't open. I have read that a common issue is a break in the wiring where it goes from the tailgate into the car body due to the constant opening and closing of the tailgate. I pulled the top end of the corrugated rubber protector from it's hole and saw a thickish clump of wires wrapped in black tape. There doesn't seem much room to work on the wiring. Can someone advise me on how to approach this problem of looking for and checking the correct wire for the tailgate lock operation, please? Thanks.
