k12 march rear shocks

hi i have a k 12 march its a 04 1.3 one,the car failed its nct/mot as it has a leaking rear shock,i brought it to a car garage and they said they would have to order them from japan as its a jap import, ive checked the part numbers on kyb and there the same as a european model ,they where going to change them for 150 euro,and now that its a jap import its 250 euro,i know the english model and jap import do have some differences,but surely they would have same shocks and springs,would anyone be able to clarify this for me,as i think i will do it myself

The shocks and springs may well be a Renault part?
Makes no sense for them to be different on the jdm and eudm/ukdm models.
With the possible exception of the 12sr?

If the model number is the same, then it's the same part...surely?

Save the extra €, just get the uk/European ones ^_^

Thanks for your help I've googled the part number of the nissan march shocks and the nissan cube uses them aswell

Snap, my rear shocks need replacing as well (2002 1.4 jap import) Monroe and I'm sure many other aftermarket shock manufacturers can provide shocks for jap import models. In other words~ there is no reason for your garage to have to import from Japan.

FYI had my 2 x rears replaced today with Monroes for $395.00 New Zealand incl taxc and labour, This equates to $198.00 GB Pounds

hi i found some info, ok ive being looking online and ive found some shocks and they are monroe and going by there guide the micra/march uses the same shocks,guess the garage is on the rip,ill be doing it myself heres the link its on page {42-43} http://www.monroecatalogue.eu/files/Monroe_Core_NewItems2014_Addendum_Q3/
