Hi, first timer here. I have a K12 and the front passenger door catch is making a terrible noise and frightening the animals.
I have removed the door card, moved the window channel out of the way, undone the three screws holding the catch and removed the bolt and stud holding the internal cover plate. BUT, I cannot remove the cover plate to get access to the bit that is obviously holding on to the catch for dear life! I can just see a white nylon rod about 3/8 in diameter.
My hatred for designers is such that many expletives have been aimed at the door, all to no avail.
I'm at the point of removing all four doors and turning it into a beach buggy but the wife is not too keen.
Can anyone tell me how to get the damn thing out? I understand that they aren't repairable but I'll cross that bridge if I can't repair it.
