k12 ecu help

Hi all can anyone tell me if engine ecu change is straight forward ? does it need to be complete lock set ? will it need programing ? or any other advise please for my 1.2 K12 micra

I think youvwould needbthe keys and locks ect,they normally sell as a set. As long as the replacement ecu is from same size engine i cant see there being any other issues. Wont effect mileometer as that info stored on the combimeter not the ecu.

Also try to match ecu on trim level too,some k12s have fog lights,and a form of antislip,if your car has any of these and you wish to continue using them without issues,the ecu will have to match.

Thanks Chris my ecu is U3 mec32040F3 3317 ive seen mec32040 F3 3402 is there any difference

Im not sure to be honest. Why have you got to replace the ecu?

engine fires but wont start its not imoboliser because the key light is not on

And the engine management light,is that on?

no once the engine is spinning all lights go out

Have you checked the obvious, fuel, air and spark etc. any signal from cam and crank sensor? Replace the ecu but get the car details, you may have to get a new key cut to the existing ign barrel and code to new ecu.
