K12 (2010) Rust in Boot / Roof Rubber Seal

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase a second hand K12 (2010) Nissan Micra.

It's in very good condition but I've noticed the bolts that lock the boot (on the door side) are very rusty. Is this common or something to be concerned about.

One of the rubber seals that runs along the roof is also loose and coming away from the roof. Is this also an issue with roof leaks etc?

This is common, and eventually the boot release can stop working. This has happened on my mum's car

I'm not sure why it happens but it shouldn't be a difficult/expensive issue to fix and some surface rust shouldn't stop you from buying the car if everything else is ok. Make sure the previous owner hasn't ignored any other issues and maybe have it inspected for rust underneath
