I bought a cheap OBD2 to try my luck to reset PS however after numerous attempts it mostly refuses to link but would then trigger all systems (literally) to restart or reset or what ever it does but i could see all lights coming on dashboard lights on=off ...etc but yet would still fail to link and start the test properly. In one occasion I got it to work by playing with starting the ignition and stopping a few times which brought the can u1001 code, upon reset it cleared from the obd2 screen however it did nothing to the ps alert and dashboard light. Yet most importantly ps system is still not energised (inop). Help please if you had similar experience, which obd2 software to use. I also heard about steering security code whi h would require recoding as this could be a spurious fault and not a mechanical one. Suggestions appreciated.

what ACTUALLY goes wrong on K12 columns? Very common fault it seems that these just pack in, even at low mileage, YOu can't fit a used one apparently even if you could find a working one, There are a couple of places who repair them, but at £250-£350. I'm fairly good at fixing things, tempted to...
