k11 revamp

started this project around 8 weeks ago when my wife was sick and tired of her old beaten up k11, I used to do body work and fabrication up until a few years back when due to a heavy smoking and ill health had to give it up. anyway as you can see it was pretty tired and needed new wings and a door but everything else was ok. Well exept front crossmember so did that as well. after fitting wings doors and taking care of various other bits of rust things started to come back to me and i totally got carried away with things. I thought time to fabricate bonnett vents thought of a scooby vent nah been done bought various other vents and they just didnt do it for me then I happened upon escort cosworth replica vents oval shape curves just like micra, anyway cut the bonnett fitted them in and it looked ok so i thought what about the front end need new bumber so found one from a super sport just the job and with a front skirt from a renault fitted along bottom even better the rear bumber was retained but was fitted with the very bottom part of a seat bumber with the holes cut away looked very good i thought anyway have a look and as its still not completed you will just have to wait...

nice! ive just noticed its got a facelift k11 boot lid. you shouldve removed the side strips on the doors, it would've looked alot tidyer imo. still good work mate it looks sweet so far!

had a little time on my hands this morning so got bumbers fitted front one having a little more work to finnish it off ie the renault skirt back one im pleased the way it turned out not to garish. What it needs now is a big bore exhaust to fill the hole but that will have to wait until there is a few more pennies to spend....And yes your right it may well have looked better without the side strips but they were plastic primed and painted over so from the side you dont see them anyway need to sort out rev counter so will do that as im tired of bending need a seat to sit on while working...............

Grill is standard form at the moment as my arm is knackered (tendernitus) if thats correct speling I have spare grill that im going to open fully then mesh but that will have to wait for now as my arm needs rest. And yes im from north east stanley to be exact also car is in need of clutch replacing so thats going to be lots of fun with only one arm to work with. I also have rev counter to conect along with clock (time) also there is the rear spoiler to bond on but i cant do that until i have solved the problem of the rear window trim keep poping out sick of it and wish i hadnt removed it to paint car i should have just masked and trimed with knife. apart from that its about done...I found a run in paint on nearside door so having some spare door stacks lying around I put them on instead of trying to wet flat as my arm wasnt up to it.......I had or have some fox 15" alloy wheels these also didnt make the final and now they are on ebay I decided that after being offered some nissan micra 13" aloys for a mere 60 quid that these were better and was more in keeping with the look I was after. (nice and tidy)

where in stanley and what level of spray are you looking for. is the bonnet prepared ie flated and in primer or is all that to do. if not your looking at least 2 days work. you need to get paint 2k is best as it has gloss built in if not the you need paint, laquer, primer, da discs filler for any dents and then the price of work on top of that..........or alternative is prep your bonnet your self bring paint and celly thinners to clean gun with and you can have it sprayed in and out the same day for 50 quid. im not spraying at the moment due to arm injury but my brother in law can sort you out..........

well that was for nowt going have bonfire this good friday big yellow nats crap micra providing the heat wonder how long it burns for, sick to death of it now I just want it gone. yellow its a proper lemon now

NATS is a right pain but what usualy works with mine when it goes wrong is to turn the key to the on position and wait untill the light stops flashing before you try to start the car sometimes mine can take up to 30 secs untill this happens but then starts fine!

mines does this too, when the light flashes i take the key right out and put it back in, the light stops flashing immediatly and the car starts

nope my head is battered with it now, I did get it started today if you read my other post in dead micra then things went wrong. as for burning it nah just me been sad......one thing i wont do is pay a garage to do the work im not been ripped off there will be ways around my problem just havent found it yet as for the micra well she is stuck in garage .............all dressed up and nowhere to go.
