Hi all,
Until recently I had a 3rd party stereo (kenwood) in my micra, installed and fully functioning with the apropriate loom adaptor.
I decided I wanted to go back to stock setup so removed the stereo and replaced it with an original model purchased on ebay. On installing the blaupunkt, the unit recieves power, i.e. the display illuminates, but the text on the display is broken and garbled. Additionally, I can't any sound, tape or radio, out of it.
I understood that the stock unit is grounded though the aerial? I also tried running an additional/separate earth from the chasis of the stereo to the metal stereo mounting screw on the body, apparently through which some micra radios are earthed by nissan.
What do I try next?
Is the garbled text indicative of anything else? Broken unit?
