Hey guys as posted before in another topic i am new to the micra scene and would love to see what mods i can do to get just a bit more power out of it without going turbo? I am currently replacing the cut springs with coilovers next week and it has 15x7.5 +13 wheels all round wrapped in achilles ATR sports. At the moment it is a standard 1.3L that beats them ****box commy's up to 80km/h and sit side my side with them new bucket toyota 86's until about 70km/h.
Cheers

hey man saw this on facebook the other day, looks bitchin. im in the exact same situation. Just bought my k11 for a daily and kinda enjoy driving it more than my s15. but yeh a little extra power would be sick, and coilover, cos the cutties arent cutting it anymore.

Yeah nar choppies are not a good time hahaha. Like i Don't wanna spend heaps of money on it but i know extractors and an exhaust will be a straight up obvious mod to do but like is there anything else without burning a hole in the pocket? hahaha

It still stands true, and with second hand zorsts and intakes rolling around, it's even cheaper.

This is gonna sound stupid but when he says in that article once you get extractors and an exhaust it is best to get a tune for it otherwise you will blow out catylic converter's? I don't get it as i see people throw extractors, hi-flo cat and 2 inch straight through and have never got it tuned...??

Ah! I wasn't going to say anything about that :D

Glad to see someone knows how to use the forums search button and read about it though. It's a job by job, feel of the pants situation.

I personally had 4-2-1, single hi-flow cat, 2.5" straight thru plus cannon 3" muffler done for two years before I bothered getting off my ass and even doing the custom intake. I could feel a slight power increase (not just placebo).

During my 3rd year of ownership I put on a machined lightweight f/wheel, custom intake, and that's all I've bothered to do power-wise with my daily. It takes off great and I love it all the way to 80km/h, at which point a flat spot is definitely felt.

My personal story aside, I've never melted my cat, and from visual inspection (3 years after install), whilst repairing and painting my car, it looked fine.

Others will tell you "get a tune/piggy back setup" and they're not wrong either. Sense or dollars - that's the only choice to make, it's just a micra after all haha
