k11 Misfiring - help?

I have a 2001 Nissan Micra GX 1.0 litre k11. It has started to misfire at low rpm and when driving. When I try to start it, it sometimes doesn't start and after a few tries, it does then finally. But when it starts, it misfires badly for around 10 seconds but then when it warms up it does it mainly when it is on idle.

I have changed the spark plugs, still same problem. I have had the car running, and then pulled out each ht lead. when pulling out the longest 3 it does not really make a difference but when pulling out the short lead, it makes the car sound like it is about to cut out. Does this mean I need to change the HT leads and distributor cap?

Any help will be appreciated.

a 2001 should be a coilpack type surely ?

It has the same distributor as the 1996-1999 models. The GX model 2001 is the last of the old engine Then you get the other models with the facelift headlights which come with newer headlights with orange in them (K11).

you should be able to hear a difference when you pull out each ht lead maj

I have sold the car as it is due to not having time to get it sorted.
