I should really know this but I've been away from my k10 for so long I've forgot.
Do the K10 fuel tanks have a return line going to them? Im pretty sure theres 2 pipes that go to the mechanical fuel pump, so I presume one of those is the return to the tank?
You have to search for the return line hose first in the carb ... the hose have to connect to the line in the firewall, next to the other one, which comes from the tank (which connects to the filter, and then to the pump)
