K10 Engine Keeps cutting out

Hi..I have a 1991 standard 1000cc K10 with 49000 gen miles on the clock...has always started and run without any problems....it now keeps cutting out. It will run fine without missing a beat then it will stop dead..no misfire or warning just stops dead.....sometimes it will start again after turning the engine over other times it wont start or even fire on any plugs at all......then when it does fire up (could be hours or sometimes a day before Ive tried to start it) and it will fire up without any problems and will not miss a beat..then it will just cut out ..no misfire just dead. I have checked fuel and its fine...any ideas.
