The power steering went on my micra, drove it around for a couple of weeks, while waiting for repair. It also disables the esp. Bloody hard work, you have to concentrate so much, and drive much more slowly around bends and roundabouts. Looked at all the posts, felt it was too big a job for myself. Bought a reconditioned unit from western power steering in bristol, for £370, as I was able to collect. Had GandM motors fit it for £252. No problems with coding, as reconditioning overides them. So far, wonderfull, and I don't remember my steering being so light and smooth, though 2 weeks of heaving my car around has probably affected my memory. It's incredibly heavy steering without power steering. Western power steering seem a reliable company. Small family co, that just recondition power steering and steering columns. Seemed very busy, shipping items in large plastic crates. It's not an easy job fitting the unit, dash, steering wheel and column have to come out. Not every garage will fit a reconditioned unit.
