what are you dudes up to with the ST?

i've got the rear wing, front and rear bumpers off being resprayed... me and a mate who paints helicopters doing it ourselves... bars are all cleaned up and in primer just waiting for some free time in the booth to do the top coat, got it colour matched in two pack white...

ordering a bunch of parts from adam the figaro dude whos been really helpful, hes got an ST as well so knows a bit about em

all right smidge ive just finished making a full stainless 2" system tonight off the turbo back.. just 1 silencer on it the backbox. it sounds awsome mate and got a blitz boost controller ready to fit. do you know do i need a bigger fuel pump to turn the boost up abit?
i want to go see ed real soon for a remap aswell . and also need my bumpers doing aswell..

i turned the turbo boost up to around 15psi without a problem, from reading baz and eds posts from the past i don't think its going to run out of fuel... my mixtures are still VERY rich

installing the wideband was a good way of seeing whats going on with it, so im glad i did.

thats mad you made it up, you got welding gear and skills huh?

did you just pull the stock factory dump pipe off and get flange to suit it? or did you make it up yourself?

yer ive got welding gear only a mig though . i took off the standard system and used the origonal cast flange and welded stanless downpipe to it and made the rest of the system up that mirrors the standard pipe route i will take some pic's tomorrow mate and post them up ..
did you put your boost controller on that pipe with the restrictors it?

thats awesome Linz! i'll look at doing that in the next few weeks too when i've got the engine out of the car (expect some threads about that bit haha!)

would love to have my own mig setup, so handy... just wouldn't use it enough and you can only hire the gas bottles here not own them and use them as you need

would love to see some pics of the dump setup! diy all the way :D

the boot controller was a simple bleed valve put on the turbo directly, i understand the yellow restrictor line is the one to use to bump up the supercharger boost but this ends up being a boost/vac leak as Baz discovered

not sure if anyone has found a way around this yet

Yeah I am also using a Blitz boost controller connected to the turbo's actuator pipework. Then I have used a manual boost controller(Forge)on the yellow restrictor line and plumbed the vent back into the intake after the afm as not to upset idle mixtures.
Seems to be working fine and I'm getting 1bar boost from the s/c so it loves steep inclines at low rpm in 4th or 5th gear lol:laugh:
Sounds fricking amazing aswell as I had to get a flexi replaced in the exhaust (after 3 years of the system being on the car it aint bad)so I eliminated an annoyed rattle resonating through the exhaust.

Also I'll be preparing the car for track next week, its out on 2nd of april.Have toyo R888's tires on it since the last outing, will get another day out of the fronts and the brakes pads will last the day(EBC yellowstuff Gti-R)an absolutely rediculously good pad for track.
Also a mag feature due out on April first! So looking forward to reading that, never thought it was magazine material:down::wasntme:

@ John, get a few pics up sound like its coming along well!!

Nice progress all around fellas!!! More pics from everyone imo!!

Can't wait to see your mag article, baz. Been waiting for that for a while now :grinning:

Things with mine are getting there... The fuel tank is all epoxied up and back in now. Fuel lines, fuel pump and injectors got serviced last week and are back in. Went up on the dyno today and it seems to be over boosting a bit so checking the plumbing on the new exhaust. Hopefully it will all be sorted by next wednesday for the micra cruise with the cmf guys.

Other than that, I got a bunch of bits arrive recently. K10 owners manual, water pumps, timing belt kits, oil filters etc... Oh...and some old skool nissan logo valve caps hehe!!

Ive been getting stuck into the spare engine a bit but havent had as much time as I'd like. Going to get the tubby off this weekend and order myself a recon kit. Have a friend who is going to machine the flywheel for me...steel wool + rust breaker just didnt cut it lol. Will probably go out this weekend and get some paint and start colour coding things...going to do up my rocker cover in metalic navy blue with red lettering I've decided....as I plan to have my engine bay sprayed in metalic navy and all piping will be black...so eventually it will all be very dark with a flash of red here and there....thats the plan anyway....not a fan of polished bling bling engine bays.

I've been looking around for a gti-r in a scrappy to get hold of some brakes and had no luck (had my wrecker friend try and source some for me too with no luck) but I recently discovered (and this may be a help for you too smidge), an N15 SSS has the same brakes, just so ya know if you plan on doing the scrappy rounds for some.

Oops almost time to go home :)

ive gotta try that 1 bar on sc baz gonna plumb the boost controller on the turbo first though mate.
is the controller you use on the yellow restricted pipe just a in and out fitting with a knob to turn the boost up and down?

yep but it cant leak that air its bleeding off to the air of you've got a vacuum leak

it needs to go back after the AFM as its air that has been metered

Thats the way I've it done works perfect, love the extra bit of pull from it down low. I had it winded out to far at first seen 1.3 bar on the boost gauge at 2k rpm!

will probly take it out tonight for a little blat to my mates place later i reckon
