Very doubtful, I saw an IT program other day, it had a part about these sort of programs and a microsoft spokesman stated their plans to bring free online communication via audio and visual means.

No one would pay for MSN anyway, just use Yahoo or ICQ

I still think ICQ is better than MSN Messenger in lots of ways. I used the first beta version.

Msn messenger will remain free to use, that is just a hoax. I got an e-mail from my friend in last month and it said that if you use messenger you will have to start paying for it in this month but...

Also one friend of mine asked this thing straight from MSN and they hadn't even heard about it and said that there's nothing worry about, it is free and will remain free
