Introduction and question about gearbox

Hello from Portugal,

Sorry for asking another gearbox question, been all over the search function.

I have a ´99 1.0 Micra with a dead engine and I have both a 1.3 and a 1.0 prefacelift micras for parts.

My interest is to have a short gearbox for city use only. What would you do?

Put the 1.3 in with the 99 1.0 flywheel and gearbox.

Thanks, Maarten, but isn't the '99 1.0 gearbox close to the 1.3 (longer)?

No the 1.0 gearbox has shorter ratio's. Its really noticeable.

Thank you very much. Is there any problem with AC/power steering/etc placement from one engine to the other?

No should all bolt up. You can also use the 1.0 pulley. Its lighter

Thanks once again. Are the throttle body,exhaust and ECU compatible?

Yes but I’d go with the ecu that belongs to the engine (and transponder ring and key chip due to nats)
