Insurance Question

My insurance runs out in a couple of months, but i wont have had a full licence for a year until a month after that (was insured as a learner), what i want to know is if i wait a month after my insurance runs out to take out a new policy (this time with a different, more mod-friendly insurer) will my one year of no claims still be valid with the new policy?
I hope they will cause the difference between having a full license for 11 months and having one for a year is about 100 quid!

iirc you can go upto about 2 years without insurance before your no claims become invalid.

not sure if this is the same for all insurers though, but you will be ok for a few months
