Ignition/relay problem!!???

Hi everyone!!

My K11 Nissan Micra Passion (1998) is having a problem which started yesterday.

When I turned it off and removed the key, one by one the dashboard lights started coming back on!

The battery light, airbag light, oil light, handbrake, etc. They then stayed on all night!

I have noticed that if I push in the rear window heater they all go out.

I'm assuming this could well be a relay problem as I think I had a similar problem a few years ago that an auto electrician fixed and he said at the time it was just a relay.

I'm more than happy to pull out and change a relay if I have to but I'm not sure where to start!!

ANY help would be much appreciated!

I guess nobody has any info on this then. I'm pretty sure it was one of the relays hidden behind the dash somewhere, but I have no idea where they are! Can't find any info on the web!!

Your relays are located on the right hand side lower dash on the same panel as the fuses, just above them. You also have a set next to the battery in the engine bay. The ignition barrel switch can also cause spurious electrical faults. This is the black unit at the back of the barrel. Many ppl have changed them due to faults.

All repaired now thank you!!

The lower (blue) relay to the right of the dashboard had failed. Swapped it for another one (from the local breakers yard) and all is good!!
