idel problem

every now and then but not all the time when i stop at traffic lights, junctions etc............ the goes to cut out as tho iv stalled but iam not stallin it.i have to rev the engine to keep it alive.

any1 know whats wrong?

sounds like it may be the air filter, im not the most mechanically minded but this did happen to mine a while ago and when i took the filter thing out it was covered in poo so i cleaned it n it was ok - im probably wrong though

Have a look at all that first, then have a look at the throttle body.

There is a brilliant guide on ciscos site on how to resolder it.

Yeah do the ecu test as in the haynes manual. Also check the coolant temp sensor (under distributor) as these are a common fault which give "throttle body like" problems and is often over looked.
